Quality of life
Patients diagnosed with schizophrenia experience a reduction in their quality of life due to various factors. Negative stereotypes and the associated public and internalized stigma play a detrimental role (Gerlinger et al, 2013) . Additionally, poor physical health and the adverse effects of medication contribute to this decline.
The prevailing "acute care" treatment approach primarily focuses on managing patients during acute illness episodes, neglecting their overall care. Unmet needs for appropriate care further worsen the situation (Karow et al, 2014).
